USA evacuated about 200 Americans from Wuhan to Anchorage in Alaska

Americans evacuated from Wuhan will spend 72 hours at a military base in California.

A plane with approximately 200 U.S. citizens evacuated due to the threat of a coronavirus from Wuhan, China, arrived in Anchorage, Alaska, Anchorage Daily News reported citing a state department of health official.

A Kalitta Air plane landed at the city airport at 9:30 p.m. local time.

The area around the landing plane was isolated. All Americans returning to the United States will undergo a medical examination for the likely presence of a coronavirus, the newspaper notes.

Previously, CNBC reported that the White House is considering suspending all flights from China to the United States and back due to a new type of coronavirus. However, a senior US administration official in an interview with CNN denied such reports.

As reported, an outbreak of pneumonia in the Chinese city of Wuhan began in mid-December 2019, a previously unknown coronavirus became the causative agent. According to recent reports, in the PRC they infected almost 6 thousand people, 132 people died.
