US troops from the al-Assad military base in Iraq learned about Iran’s attack 2.5 hours before the shelling began, CNN reported with reference to the words of the military base’s officers.
According to them, having learned about the upcoming shelling of al-Assad, the servicemen left the military base in advance or hid in bunkers. Earlier, the US reported that it had been warned of a missile attack from Iran.
