The recently introduced iPhone SE (2020) received a time-based processor, but its case and battery are from iPhone 8. In this regard, many users have begun to talk about the modest autonomy of the new smartphone by today’s standards. The author of the YouTube channel iAppleBytes decided to find out how long the new iPhone works compared to the old one.
The iPhone 8 has a 1831 mAh battery, while the new iPhone SE has a 1810 mAh battery. For comparison, the brightness on both smartphones was set at 25%, after which they launched the Geekbench 4 benchmark in autonomy testing mode.
The “old man” iPhone 8 immediately began to discharge faster than the newer model and disconnected after 3 hours and 9 minutes, receiving 1887 points. iPhone SE (2020) worked for 4 hours 12 minutes with a score of 2515 points.
Thus, iPhone SE (2020), even taking into account the same battery capacity, works much longer than its progenitor. This is probably the merit of the A13 Bionic processor, made by a more energy-efficient process technology.
