In South Korea, Quarantine Violators Will Be Forced To Wear Gps Bracelets

Some residents abandon isolation despite authorities banning.

South Korea announced plans to tighten control over citizens that would violate quarantine restrictions. It is reported by Bloomberg.

In particular, quarantine violators may be required to wear special tracking bracelets.

It is noted that such a decision can be made due to the frequent cases of ignoring quarantine in the country against the background of the further spread of coronavirus. According to the South Korean authorities, 57 thousand residents were ordered to stay at home, but some of them violated orders and left places of self-isolation, leaving smartphones with applications to track their movements at home.

Earlier, the South Korean authorities intended to introduce the massive use of tracking bracelets, but this undertaking was postponed due to the objections of human rights defenders.

Currently, 10.5 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in South Korea. 208 people died from the infection
