Published the first trailer of the Peninsula zombie apocalypse directed by Young Young Son-ho. In 2016, the director presented the film “Train to Busan,” which made the whole world talk about Korean cinema and was phenomenally successful. With a budget of 8.5 million dollars, he collected more than 92 million at the global box office.
The action of the new film takes place in the same world as the previous one, four years after the start of the zombie epidemic. The plot details are not particularly disclosed. It is known that the main character will be a soldier who, with his team, received orders to infiltrate a peninsula filled with infected people. In the course of the assignment, it turns out that there were also healthy people who needed to be saved.
The director himself claims that it is wrong to call this film a sequel to “Train to Busan”, as this is a separate work. But for commercial reasons, the distributors gave the film a name other than the director’s one – “Train to Busan 2: Peninsula”.
Prior to this, the director shot the animated film “Seoul Station”. The action takes place at the station and in the neighborhoods surrounding it and talks about the first hours of the zombie epidemic. Thus, the cartoon is a prequel to Train to Busan.
The premiere of the film “Train to Busan 2: Peninsula” in the Russian box office is scheduled for August 12, 2020.
