iPhone SE is an exact external copy of iPhone 8, only the apple has been moved lower. What about the insides? With the processor it’s clear – it’s new, it can’t be rearranged from the eighth, but everything else? IFixit experts disassembled the new smartphone and told which parts of the iPhone 8 are suitable for the new iPhone SE.
So which parts are compatible? In the second-generation iPhone SE, you can install a SIM tray, a camera module, a display (including a microphone and proximity sensor) and a Taptic Engine vibration motor.
You can also set the Home button, but the Touch ID scanner will not work – it is tied to the device’s motherboard.
And will everything work?
Yes, but for the “True Tone” function to work, you will have to flash the device, which they can only do in the service. Everything else should not be a problem.
The iPhone 8 camera is suitable because the module and its characteristics have not changed – new modes have appeared that are not available on the iPhone 8, in addition, the A13 Bionic processor uses other algorithms for image processing.
What about the battery? Aren’t they identical?
They are identical in capacity, but the connector for connection is different: the new smartphone uses the same connector as in the iPhone 11 line.
IFixit experts believe that this is a huge progress for Apple – so many details are compatible, this is rare. This will greatly simplify the repair of the new iPhone SE and save a little on spare parts.
