The BNP Paribas Open 2020 Tennis Tournament, due to take place in March at the American Indian Wells, was canceled due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus. This was reported by the organizers of the competition.
The organizers emphasized that for them the safety of fans, athletes and local residents is in the first place, so the tournament was decided to be canceled. However, it is possible that the competition will be postponed to a later date.
As previously reported, on March 8, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) canceled the traditional handshake between matches. This measure was taken in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) in order to prevent the threat of the spread of a new type of coronavirus.
